Intel Corp. announced a solid state drive (SSD) in 40GB or 80GB capacities, claimed to be an eighth the size of the company’s 2.5-inch X25 SSDs. Measuring only 2.0 x 1.18 x 0.2 inches (51 x 30 x 5mm) and weighing less than 10 grams, the Intel SSD 310 Series is Intel’s first mSATA form factor SSD.

Want to test the latest Linux distro but do not have a spare box? Why not try Linux as a virtual machine.

Oracle has just released its latest version of VirtualBox. This newest version (4.0), offers new virtual hardware, including PCI Express and HD audio, and makes it simpler to delete or resize disk images, according to the company.

Oracle’s VirtualBox 4.0 is a type 2 (“hosted”) hypervisor, which requires a host operating system and then allows virtual machines to run on top of that host.
